Building a FinTech Startup: From Idea to Launch. Law, Operations and Funding – workshop

 

1. Introduction

 

Welcome to the Terms and Conditions of legal workshop “Building a FinTech Startup: From Idea to Launch. Law, Operations and Funding”. By registering for and attending this workshop, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions.

2. Registration and Payment

 

2.1. Registration: Participants must register for the workshop through the registration form available at https://innovation-advocate.com or via email at joanna@innovation-advocate.com. Registration is confirmed upon receipt of payment.

 

2.2. The workshop is a paid legal consultation with regards to general legal regulations relating to FinTech, undertaken in a group or individually. It shall be held in English – unless all registered Participants present at the workshop agree to hold it in Polish or French language.

 

2.3. The workshop registration is available only for legal persons (whether public, non-governmental organizations or corporate) as well as for individual entrepreneurs, registered in the relevant public registers of entrepreneurs.

 

2.4. The workshop is not available for consumers (within the meaning of Article 22(1) of the Polish Civil Code (Kodeks cywilny)).

 

 

2.5. Pricing:

 

  1. Early Bird: 790 PLN net (+23% VAT) – for registrations made by 21 November 2024 payment due by 22 November 2024
  2. Regular: 850 PLN net (+23% VAT) – for registrations made between 22 and 27 November 2024, payment due by 27 November

 

2.4. The workshop will take place on 28 November 2024 in Warsaw, Poland. Organizational details relating to the time schedule and location of the event will be communicated by the Organizer to the registered participants not later than 1 day prior to the workshop.

 

2.5. Payment: All fees must be paid in full not later than 1 day prior to the start of the workshop via bank transfer indicated in the relevant accounting document provided by the Organizer.

 

 

3. Cancellation and Refund Policy

 

3.1. Cancellation by Participant: Participants who are not consumers may cancel their registration up to 7 days before the workshop date for a full refund. Cancellations made less than 7 days before the workshop will not be eligible for a refund.

 

3.3. Cancellation of Online Purchases: This provision applies to Participants who register online as individual entrepreneurs to whom consumer protection laws apply accordingly for purchases outside of their main scope of business. If such Participants purchase workshop participation – they shall have the right to cancel their purchase within 14 days from the date of purchase without providing any reason. To exercise this right, consumers must notify the organizer in writing (e.g., by email at joanna@innovation-advocate.com) within the 14-day period. If the workshop is scheduled to take place within the 14-day cancellation period, the right to cancel will not apply once the workshop has started.

 

3.2. Cancellation by Organizer: The organizer reserves the right to change the date and/or location of the workshop as well as to cancel the workshop due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, participants who shall not be able to participate in the workshop will receive a full refund.

 

 

4. Workshop Content and Materials

 

4.1. Content: The workshop will cover topics related to building a FinTech startup, including legal, operational, compliance and funding aspects. The content is subject to change at the discretion of the organizer.

4.2. Materials: At the discretion of the Organizer Participants may receive workshop materials, including presentations and/or handouts – in digital and/or paper form. These materials constitute the inetllectual property of the Organizer, are for personal use only and may not be reproduced and/or distributed without permission.

 

 

5. Intellectual Property

 

5.1. Ownership: All intellectual property rights in the workshop content and materials are owned by the organizer and/or its licensors.

5.2. Use: Participants are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the workshop materials for personal, non-commercial purposes.

 

6. Code of Conduct

 

6.1. Behavior: Participants are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner. Disruptive or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.

6.2. Compliance: Participants must comply with all applicable laws and regulations and safety measures during the workshop.

 

 

7. Liability

 

7.1. Disclaimer: The organizer is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from participation in the workshop. In particular but not limited to, the content of the workshop has a character of general information only and shall not be deemed or considered individual legal advice for a specific case. 

7.2. Indemnity: Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless the organizer from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from their participation in the workshop.

 

 

8. Privacy & Data Protection

 

The organizer will collect and process personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws. For more information, please refer to the organizer’s privacy policy.

 

 

9. Amendments

 

The organizer reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Participants will be notified of any changes.

 

 

10. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

 

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Poland. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Poland.
